What is the best age to neuter a boxer puppy?

It is generally agreed that the best age is 3-6 months. Boxer's hit puberty at about 6 months and you want to get it done before then. Opinions may vary on this subject, ask your vet before deciding.

We have a 2 1/2 year old male boxer. Both our breeder and vet (who happens to be the parent of 2 boxers) advised we have Duke neutered between twelve to 18 months, after his musculature fully developed. He's now the biggest, strongest boxer you'll ever see. He's 100 pounds, all muscle, no flab. His sire and dam were both big, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it, but I'm glad we listened and waited, because we did want a big, strong dog.
