What is the Ideal Temperature For Boxer Dogs?

Boxers are short haired dogs. This makes them much more susceptible to the cold compared to other dogs. The ideal temperature for adult boxers is around 70 degrees. For puppies 0-3 weeks old the temperature should be about 81 degrees. As the get older they can handle progressively lower temperatures.

You should avoid taking a boxer out for long walks when the temperature is colder than 70, they can get sick. Many boxer owners will get dog clothes for their dog to help keep them warm. This can be very important if you live in an especially cold climate. As for indoors you may want to consider a heat lamp, space heater, or some other secondary heat source. That way you can keep your boxer warm without running up huge heating bills.
