boxer dog food

What does everyone feed. I currently feed NutriSource Super Performance. Bailey does great on it as well as our Boston Terrier(Georgia). I look forward to everyone's input.

Royal Canin
by: Anonymous

We have Thor on Royal canin Boxer 26, it seems to be the one he is more happy with. He realy likes it when we put his supplements on it lol. Guess it spices it up a little, I know I would get board eating the same thing all my life. As for the price, I spend more than 76$ on food for my self for a month so I don't feel that spending 70-80$ on my boy is a big deal.

home cooked
by: Anonymous

most home cooked meals seem to contain rice, which is good and bad, of course just like you brown "real" rice is better then instant and much better then white rice. you can try using rice as a base and adding small amounts of things he will need like meats and so on, it will also give you the chance to see what types of foods do not agree like, he might be able to have hamburger but not pork or he can have fish but chicken doesn't agree. you will learn your dog much like if you had a child.

he's a quick recipe and be careful how much grains you are adding. grain is not always the best way to go ;)

hope it helps a bit

Eukanuba large breed puppy
by: Anonymous

I started my puppy on Eukanuba large breed puppy & then will be feeding her Eukanuba for Boxers. She has done great on it and It is not terribly expensive either. Royal Canin for Boxers is supposed to be another great one. Both of these were recommend by the vet. Petco does a deal if you buy 9 bags of the higher quality food you get the 10th bag free! Hope this is helpful!

That to bad that it has to be shipped. I was going to recommend taste of the wild next, lol. but since it didn't give you good results and since i do not have any personal experience with it, i'll leave that one alone.
Doy you have any similar "local made" foods like acana is, or have you considered home cooked foods?

Acana Wild Prairie
by: Anonymous

I feed Maddie Acana Wild Prairie, grain free. I used to work in a Rendering facility so i am very bias to certain foods now, lol.

I find its a great food. it has stopped her overly soft sometimes runny stool, cleared up dandruff, shiny coat, more energy, more satisfied after eating and has gotten her to a more healthy weight over the run of only 1.5 months
if a food does that, i don't think there's any point on trying other now, lol.
